Birth Doula Support

As a birth professional myself, I was prepared in many ways for my first baby, but a challenging labor and a complication after delivery left me struggling to feel ready for my second. I was seeking to lower my risk of recurrent complications, increase my confidence and reduce my anxiety. I’m data driven, and evidence supports the power of the one-on-one birth assistant toward these goals, so I sought out a doula. I knew the connection would be crucial and I was instantly enamored with Roxy at our first consultation – she has such a warm, genuine, loving presence. Her guidance leading up to my delivery was well-informed and meaningful. When labor began, she was soon by my side and I was so appreciative of her encouraging affirmations and diverse means of providing support - physical, emotional, and otherwise. When my labor became complicated and medical interventions were necessary, she instantly found her place by my side in a room full of providers and remained a constant source of calm and positive energy. After delivery, she captured pictures of our first precious moments. She remained just the right amount of time after delivery and found so many small ways to be helpful and show kindness. I wish every birthing mother could have a doula, although I truly believe Roxy is uniquely gifted in this beautiful art and practice of supporting birthing families and I am so grateful she was there for me.

In navigating the many unknowns of pregnancy, birth and parenthood something you can control is the support you have along the way.

A birth doula provides unconditional emotional, physical, informational support and advocacy through pregnancy, birth and early postpartum. As a doula, I aim to build deep and authentic connections with my clients. I want to be your birth bestie! Building a relationship with my clients is key in providing exceptional care and support. Through cultivating this bond and relationship with my clients I can ensure that their specific preferences, needs and intentions for their birth will not be lost in the birthing process. My greatest goal is that birthing families feel seen, heard and informed no matter how birth unfolds.

“Roxy is a strong, intuitive, fierce, gentle, compassionate warrior for women and families. I have watched in awe as she cares for women in labor and continue to learn from her wisdom.
She is a gift!”
— Laurie Jenkins (Certified Nurse Midwife)

Roxy is a gift to our community and was crucial during my pregnancy and birth. She supported me and my family as our doula and my yoga teacher. Having Roxy as my doula, I felt taken care of, loved and seen and it felt so good to have a guide along the crazy journey of birth and postpartum. You know how people have sherpas to climb mount everest? That feels similar to birth. To have a trusted guide who has been down this path hundreds of times before and knows how to light the way is priceless. I am so grateful to have had Roxy in moments of fear and doubt. She is truly a grounding, calming force and a wonderful human too.

The support and encouragement that Roxy offered me and my husband, too, was absolutely invaluable. When people initially think of Doulas, they think “support during birth.” Roxy was SO MUCH more than that. She was a shoulder to cry on, and an ear that listened to me and supported me physically and emotionally for 41 weeks and 5 days. She kept me sane with daily check-ins in those last two weeks when I felt like my pregnancy would never end. I so often am the one to say “I’m fine, everything is fine, it’s no big deal.” Roxy saw through that, always reminding me to listen to my body and prioritize my physical and mental health. Roxy was truly my pregnancy and birth therapist!! Roxy, not only provided this support during pregnancy, she has also been an amazing companion and resource in helping me adjust to postpartum life. Roxy’s care is SO worth any amount we could have ever paid for it. Roxy knows what she’s doing and she loves what she does.
